Unintentionally Unplugged

Why the radio silence?  Well, I took a much deserved vacation last week, and unintentionally unplugged myself from all communication.  Alright, not all, I did have the cell phone if the baby needed me, but I wasn't checking texts, emails, Facebook, blogs, etc.  Ok, I did return a couple of texts, and went on Facebook maybe like twice ;)

So, what exactly does unintentionally unplugged mean?  I didn't plan to unplug during my vacation.  In fact, I thought the opposite.  I thought I would take more time to write interesting blog posts, with pictures, and reviews of my lifestyle redesign program.  I was going to upload a thousand baby pictures on Facebook for those family members who don't get to see my little Punky Brewster grow up, and do those nagging chores like update my Quicken software, etc.

Instead, when packing for Vegas, I decided that I would leave the laptop at home.  Who needs a laptop interrupting a romantic getaway with your hubby, right?!  4 days later, when we got home, I was so excited to see the baby and visit with friends at Slimmons that I never thought about checking my emails or going online. By the time I realized I had been offline for 5 days, I thought, what's a few more??  I finished two books, went to Disneyland and caught up on my DVR.  It was heaven!

So, here I am.  Vacation over, and back into the swing of things.  Later tonight or tomorrow I will also be posting my vacation recap and confessions, yikes!!

I missed my bloggers and look forward to catching up on what you all have been doing this past week.

  1. Good for you! Unplugging is good for recharging the old batteries every once in a while. Hope Vegas was fun. I want to go there one day but have seen way too many movies about what happens in Vegas staying in Vegas and I'm afraid I'd end up with Brett Favre tattooed on my butt.

  2. Sounds like a great little break! I can't wait to see pictures! I think the biggest thing I miss about living in So. Cal is going to Disneyland on a regular basis!

  3. Wow, that sounds fab! It is on my 30 before 30 list to go 10 days with no online or other communication devices. Sounds like it's well worth it. Yay, Vegas!!!!!

  4. I love this, unplugging yourself is the most relaxing thing. Seriously I think we have no idea just how much our lives are intruded on day by day with cell phones and emails. And wow what a city to get lost in Vegas! Hope you had an awesome time!

  5. I think it is VERY important to unplug once in a while. Makes you think about how much time you spent online, too. Glad you are back.
